"My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, Oh Lord;

In the morning will I direct my prayer unto Thee, and will look up." Psalms 5:3

Accept this morning prayer, Oh God my Father.

I echo the cry of the psalmist, David.

My soul desires to please You.
Cover me this day with the shadow of Your Spirit.

Raise my soul and spirit in communion with all that is eternal.
Oh God, My Father ... You know from whence I came;

All my tomorrows lay as an open book before You.
You knowest the intent of my deepest heart.

Surely, I will not be led as a lamb to slaughter ...

For I trust in You.
I desire only to follow You.

Hold me, I pray, next to Your loving heart.

Shield me from the darts of my adversary.
Surely, without You, I am but a wandering child,

Chased by the shadows of yesterday.

Yet, in Your protection and mercy, I rest.
In Your eternal providence I trust with waiting heart.

Let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart

Be acceptable in Your sight, Oh God ... My Father.
